This page explains what ShieldNest collects when you request an insurance quote, how we store it, and who we share it with. ShieldNest is a licensed insurance brokerage (National Producer Number 21405787) serving California, New York, and Texas.

What we collect

When you submit a quote form we collect the contact and risk information needed to shop your coverage with carriers. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, property or vehicle details, and coverage preferences. For commercial truck quotes we also collect your business name, DOT number, CA number, MC number, vehicle VINs, and fleet size. We do not collect Social Security numbers through the website.

Document uploads

Homeowners and commercial truck quote forms allow optional document uploads (PDF or images, up to 10 MB each) such as a declarations page, inspection report, or DOT filings. Uploaded files are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket and are only retrieved by ShieldNest agents working your quote. They are never publicly accessible.

How we store your data

Quote submissions are stored in a secured database with row-level access controls. Access is limited to ShieldNest agents and staff who need the information to prepare your quote. Each submission is assigned a quote number (format SN-XXXXXXXX) for reference.

Who we share it with

We share the information you submit with the insurance carriers and underwriters we approach for a quote, and with our internal CRM to track your submission. We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not share your data for marketing purposes unrelated to your quote.

Your choices

Uploading documents is always optional. You may request a copy of the information you submitted or ask us to delete it by contacting ShieldNest. Note that information already shared with carriers for underwriting may be retained by those carriers under their own records-retention policies.

No binding on the website

Nothing on this website binds coverage. A policy is in force only when a licensed agent issues it. Submitting a quote form is a request for an insurance quotation, not an application for coverage.
